"Wonder Lounge" is a night event that gently layers quality music into your time spent in the restaurant.
The main focus is always on the food and conversation. The music is subtly present, blending in with the atmosphere and the flow of time to enhance the overall feel of the space. It quietly responds to the rhythm of the food, service, and conversation, creating a comfortable atmosphere throughout the restaurant.
Without being bound by genre, we select music that best suits the atmosphere and time of the venue, crossing over jazz, Latin, R&B, dance classics, etc. DJs with refined sensibilities take turns participating each day, painting music into the space from their own perspective.
With music blending in naturally, an ordinary dinner becomes something a little more special.
Enjoy a meal, have lively conversation, and relax as the night deepens - we propose a new way to spend a night at a restaurant.
Due to popular demand, the event will be held monthly from March 2026 onwards.
Many of the guests who visited said things like, "It was a lot of fun," and "We hope they hold this event again." The extraordinary space that combined restaurant and music strongly conveyed the needs of guests who "want to enjoy a night out every once in a while."
In response to this positive response and success, Wonder Lounge will be held as a regular monthly event from March 2026. We will continue to propose new ways to spend the night, centered on the appeal of the restaurant and adding music.
DJ TARO will be participating as the event producer.
DJ TARO has been a host on J-WAVE for over 20 years, and has also been active as an MC on the international scene, including at movie premieres and red carpet events. With over 30 years of experience as a DJ/selector, he has performed in a variety of venues, including clubs, lounges, and hotel events. His cross-genre music selection sense and outstanding composition skills continue to captivate listeners both in Japan and overseas.
Based in their own studio, "handsome boy studio," they pursue "genre-less danceable music" that is not bound by existing formats. In addition to remixes of domestic and international artists, they also actively release original tracks from overseas labels.
He is also highly regarded not only as a music selector but also as a "sound craftsman who designs the space itself," and has produced background music for over 50 hotels and restaurants to date.He also continues to expand the realm of music into spaces and technology, such as producing film music and developing wireless multi-speakers.
Comment from DJ TARO
This time, I will be in charge of the music direction for "Wonder Lounge." Rather than music to make you dance, I will propose a musical experience as "lounge play" that complements the food, service, and space.
To me, music is like an invisible piece of interior design. It enhances the perfection of the space, responding to the flow of the food, the time of day, and the atmosphere of the place.
With over 30 years of DJ experience and the know-how I've cultivated through directing music selections for restaurants and hotels, I'll be bringing you live music that comes to life in the moment at Union Square Tokyo and Obicà. I hope that the combination of music will make your time at the restaurant an even more memorable experience.
